The Midland Register is an independently produced record of licensed casino premises in the Midlands and the North. Its role is editorial: to list, describe and assess venues. The Register holds no gambling licence, sells no travel arrangements, and processes no payments. It is neither owned nor controlled by any operator listed.
Two categories are gathered. First, whatever a reader enters into an enquiry or contact form: name, e-mail address, preferred dates, number of people in the party, and free-text notes. Second, technical data logged automatically by the web server and analytics software, including IP address, browser and device type, and the pages requested.
Form data serves one purpose: responding to the enquiry and supplying the material requested. Technical logs are examined for security monitoring, fault diagnosis and to establish which listings are consulted most, which guides later editorial work. Reader details are not sold, rented or traded, and are not passed to advertisers.
Cookies fall into two groups here: those strictly necessary for the pages to function, and analytics cookies set by third-party measurement providers. Both groups may be blocked or cleared from within the browser. Doing so does not restrict access; every listing, score and venue record stays available to read.
An enquiry record is retained for the period required to deal with it, and no longer. Readers may ask for a copy of what is stored, request a correction, or ask for erasure. Send such requests to [email protected], stating which enquiry is concerned so the record can be located.
The Register is compiled for an adult readership: eighteen years and above. No part of the site is directed at children, and information is not knowingly gathered from anyone under that age. Any record identified as belonging to a minor is deleted once brought to the editors’ attention.
